§ 10-6. Fee schedule.

  • (a)

    Merchants. The license of merchants shall be calculated on the gross receipts as defined herein, of goods, wares and merchandise sold in the city arising out of a business wholly or partly conducted at or in any store, stand or place, or vehicle (fixed or movable) in the city:

    (1)

    Minimum licensed based on gross receipts of $15,000.00 or less, $25.00.

    (2)

    License on gross receipts over $15,000.00, but not in excess of $100,000.00, $40.00.

    (3)

    License on gross receipts over $100,000.00, but not in excess of $250,000.00, $70.00.

    (4)

    License on gross receipts over $250,000.00, but not in excess of $500,000.00, $100.00.

    (5)

    License on gross receipts over $500,000.00, but not in excess of $1,000,000.00, $130.00.

    (6)

    License on gross receipts on excess of $1,000,000.00, $160.00.

    (b)

    Manufacturers and wholesalers. Manufacturers and wholesalers shall pay an annual license fee based upon the gross receipts schedule set forth in subparagraph (a) above.

    (c)

    Service occupations. Service occupations, including subcontractors, shall pay an annual license fee based upon the gross receipts schedule set forth in subparagraph (a) above.

    (d)

    Banks and savings and loan associations. Banks and savings and loan association and other financial institutions shall pay an annual license of $175.00.

    (e)

    Carnivals, circuses, etc. Carnivals, including the different shows and side attractions connected therewith under the management and control of the proprietor or manager of the carnival, and circuses, including any menagerie, sideshows and street parade, when under the control of one management, shall pay a license fee of $130.00 per week.

    (f)

    Hotels, motels, etc. Hotels, motels and boarding houses, including retirement and convalescent care centers, shall pay an annual license fee based upon the gross receipts schedule set forth in subparagraph (a) above.

    (g)

    Loan companies, etc. Loan companies, finance companies, loan agencies, loan, land and investment companies not licensed as a banker or a broker shall pay an annual license fee of $130.00.

    (h)

    Pawnbrokers. Any person who loans money on deposits of personal property, or who deals in the purchase of personal property on condition of selling same back at a stipulated price, or who makes a public display at his place of business of a sign "Money to Loan on Personal Property on Deposit," or words to that effect, shall pay an annual license fee of $250.00.

    (i)

    Massage parlors. Any person engaged in the operation of a massage parlor shall pay an annual license fee of $750.00.
