§ 10-84. Records.

  • (a)

    Every person engaged in any of the businesses within the scope of this article shall at any time during regular business hours permit the city clerk to make an inspection and audit of the records and books of such person for the purpose of determining the correctness of any sworn statement filed in accordance with the terms and provisions of this article.

    (b)

    The information and data obtained from such inspection and audit shall not be disclosed by the city clerk, but this section shall not prohibit the city clerk from giving evidence before any court of competent jurisdiction in any proceeding brought to collect any license tax, or for the purpose of prosecuting any person for the making of a false or fraudulent statement.
