§ 14-3. False accident or fire report.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to make or cause to be made a false report to any peace officer or other official in the state whose duty it is to investigate accidents and fires, that an accident has occurred upon the public highway or elsewhere, or that a fire is in progress, knowing at the time that no accident has occurred or that no fire is in progress. Any person violating the provisions of this section is guilty of an offense.
