§ 2-127. Authentication of ordinances without mayor's approval.
Latest version.
Whenever the mayor shall neglect or refuse to sign any ordinance, or to return the
same to the city council, with his objections in writing, at its next regular meeting
after the same shall have been presented to him, and such ordinance shall become effective,
the ordinance shall be authenticated as having become effective by having endorsed
thereon or attached thereto a certificate signed by the president of the council,
in the following form:
This ordinance having been delivered to the mayor for his approval on the _____ day
of _______, and not having been returned by him to the council at its next regular
meeting after it was delivered to him for his approval, the same became a law on the
_____ day of ________
