§ 5-4. Building permit fees.
All persons making application for building permits to be issued by the City of Boonville, Missouri, shall pay to said city a building permit fee, the amount of which shall be determined under the following fee schedules:
(a)
New buildings and new additions to existing buildings including heating and air-conditioning:
(1)
Definitions: "Finished buildings" include any area of a building that is thermally insulated in walls or that is provided with heating or air-conditioning.
(a)
Buildings under 3,000 square feet $0.06 per square foot for all areas except attached garages and unfinished areas, with a minimum fee of $20.00; where the total square feet of a new building is under 3,000 square feet, attached garages and unfinished areas shall be computed separately at the rate of $0.04 per square foot.
(b)
Building of 3,000 to 10,000 square feet - $250.00, plus $0.06 per square foot for all area over 3,000 square feet. Attached garages and unfinished areas shall be computed separately at the rate of $0.04 per square foot.
(c)
Buildings over 10,000 square feet - $1,000.00, plus $0.035 per square foot for area over 10,000 square feet (includes attached garages and unfinished areas).
(2)
Unfinished buildings: $0.025 per square foot with a minimum fee of $20.00. Residential storage structures that are unfinished buildings and have less than 100 square feet shall require no permit fee. Definition: "Unfinished buildings" are buildings that are not thermally insulated in the walls or that are not improved with heating or air-conditioning means.
(b)
Remodeling of buildings including heating and air conditioning, materials and work:
(1)
Work shall include all materials and labor required to complete the remodeling exclusive of accessory equipment. Accessory equipment is anything not pertinent to the building structure.
(2)
The fee schedule is as follows:
For work costing:
$0.00 to $1,000.00 ..... $25.00
$1,000.00 but less than $5,000.00 ..... $40.00
$5,000.00 but less than $10,000.00 ..... $75.00
For each $1,000, or fraction thereof over $10,000 an additional $5.00.
(c)
The fee for installation of signs shall be computed in accordance with section 7.13-13 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Boonville, Missouri which is hereby amended to read as follows:
Every applicant, before being granted a permit hereunder, shall pay a building fee to the City of Boonville, Missouri. Any changes made to the sign other than maintenance, shall require a new building permit. The fee shall be based on the area of one face of the sign as expressed in square feet at a fee rate of $50.00 up to 50 square feet, and $0.25 thereafter. The minimum permit fee for any sign shall be $50.00. The area of the sign shall be calculated from the geometry of the extreme limits of one face as defined in section 7.3.2.
(d)
Plumbing fees for both new buildings and additions and remodeling are as follows:
Ground work rough-in inspection ..... $12.00

Per fixture, including water heaters, sinks, laundry, floor drains, air conditions where plumber makes connection:
Up to 25 fixtures ..... $2.00
For each additional fixture over 25 fixtures ..... $1.50
(e)
Electrical fees for new buildings, remodeling, and alterations as follows:
For each service entrance panel 200 amperes or less ..... $30.00
For each service entrance panel over 200 amperes, fee per ampere ..... $0.10
For each circuit (whether two-wire, three-wire or three-phase):
For first ten, per each ..... $2.00
For all over ten, per each ..... $1.50
For each connection of hot air or hot water heating plant ..... $10.00
For each electric heating circuit (base board, etc.) ..... $10.00
For each installation of, or addition to sound, audio-visual and/or communication equipment ..... $25.00
For each air conditioning unit or heat pump ..... $20.00

A minimum fee shall be charged for the following items of construction, building, remodeling, relocation or demolition:
Commercial swimming pool ..... $100.00
Residential swimming pool ..... $75.00
