§ 7-3. Authority of fire department to respond to certain emergency requests for assistance outside corporate limits.

  • (a)

    The Boonville Missouri Fire Department is hereby authorized to respond to emergency requests for assistance made by members of the Missouri Highway Patrol or the Cooper County Sheriff's Department with respect to persons trapped in burning motor vehicles outside the corporate limits of Boonville, Missouri, and along the following designated roadways and within the following prescribed limits:

    (1)

    Interstate 70 Highway between the Rocheport Bridge and the Highway 135 exit ramp;

    (2)

    Highway 5 south from the Boonville city limits to the junction of Route F.

    (b)

    The Boonville fire chief is hereby authorized to send an appropriate number of fire department personnel and one fire truck, equipped with foam extinguisher, to respond to such requests for assistance whenever he shall determine in his judgement the same can be safely spared from the city at the time and under the circumstances existing when such request is made. Provided, however, that at no time shall said fire chief send more than one-third of the available fire department personnel to answer such request for assistance.
