§ 21-2. New connections to water or sewer systems.

Application for water and sewage services or either, to premises not connected with
the city's combined water and sewerage system shall be made to the director of public
works or to such other person as may be designated by the city council by the occupant
or owner of the premises to be served. Upon approval of such application, the applicant
shall have the right to connect with the city's combined water works and sewerage
system; provided, however, that the water tap and installation of the water service
from the main through the curb stop or box shall be done only by the public works
department of the City of Boonville, Missouri, and provided further that all costs
of any water or sewer connection shall be borne by such owner or occupant. After the
expiration of six months from the date on which sewage service becomes available to
any owner or occupant, the city reserves the right to impose and collect from such
owner or occupant a connection fee in such amount as the governing body of the city
may fix for any subsequent connection to the city's combined water and sewerage system.
With respect to maintenance and repair of water services and sewer laterals, it shall
be the responsibility of the city to maintain and repair all water services from the
main through the curb stop or curb box subsequent to any installation of same. All
sewer laterals shall be maintained by the property owner from the main to the building.
