§ 5-4.3. Electric and gas meter installations and inspections.

  • (a)

    Before both the permanent electric and gas meters can be installed, such meter base shall be tagged by the building inspector to indicate that all electrical and plumbing work has passed final inspection and that all gas lines have been pressure tested in accordance with standard and acceptable practices to the satisfaction of the building inspector. Any meter installed prior to final inspection shall be considered a temporary meter.

    (b)

    All electrical and plumbing work which is hidden from view shall be inspected before concealment, and any person, firm or corporation installing such electrical and plumbing work shall notify the building inspector, allowing him 24 hours in which to make the required inspection before such electrical and plumbing work is concealed.

    (c)

    Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of an offense, and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $200.00.
